Savaje Technologies has launched version 1.0 of its Savaje XE operating system. The SavaJe is the first operating system to support a full desktop Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition environment for handheld and embedded platforms. The Savaje XE version 1.0 runs on the Compaq iPAQ H3600, H3700 and H3800 series handhelds,a dn may be ported to any Intel Strong Arm, Intel X Scale or Arm-based device with a minimum configuration of 150MHz processor speed, 12MB of non-volatile memory and 32MB of RAM. Savaje XE ships with a number of Java applications, including a secure browser, an HTML email client, calendar, to-do list, contract lists, MP3 music player, picture viewer, notepad editor and games. Savaje is now available for purchase from the Sava Je website for $100 per license.
