The Savannah College of Art and Design Atlanta campus has announced it will host a Game Developers eXchange in April 2008. The event, which connects game development professionals, students, and educators, will highlight alternative gaming and emerging game concepts. Additionally, the conference will offer five tracks of content: design, production, distribution, audience, and industry. Speakers will include video game industry leaders, notably Eric Zimmerman of Gamelab (Diner Dash) and Greg Costikyan of Manifesto Games, who in 2007 won the Game Developers Choice Awards Maverick Award for his efforts to reinforce indie games in the market. Sherri Graner Ray from Women in Games International will also be at the show to speak on women and minorities in games. Musical artist Bubblyfish, who composes with 8-bit game machines, is scheduled to perform during a special dinner and reception, which will be simulcast in Second Life. The conference will take place April 10 and 11 and is open to the public. For more information, visit www.scad.edu/gdx.
