Former SCEE senior producer Ivan Davies formally announced the launch of Catalyst Outsourcing Limited, a new game development services company aiming to help developers and publishers cut down on project costs. Based in Liverpool, Catalyst was formed in March 2008 and boasts "fifty years [of] collective industry experience." Davies, who heads the new company, makes up almost twenty of those years, having worked with SCEE on games like the Buzz series and with Atari on the Unreal franchise. Catalyst's services include concept design and illustration, storyboards, design consultation, script writing, 3D model creation and texturing, full motion CG, motion capture, audio review, full project management, and more. "Essential to our delivery is our complete management of these services on behalf of our client," says Davies. "We manage the selection, implementation and development of each and every aspect of their outsourcing requirements."
