Officials from British publisher SCi, owners of Eidos Interactive, have revealed that the company has sold its Spanish distributor Proein to Austrian publisher Koch Media. SCi will continue to use Proein as its distributor in Spain under the new ownership. Financial details of the sale were not made public, but the gross assets of Proein, as of June 30th, were put at €8.6 million ($13.5m). Earlier in the week SCi revealed that it expects losses of £100 million ($199m) for its full financial year, due to the cost of “restructuring and transition” and the delay of several titles. This restricting has also included the recent downsizing of Conflict: Desert Storm developer Pivotal Games and the transition of production services to Montreal. “Selling the Proein business is in line with our declared strategy to have a lean and efficient approach to distribution to support our product focused, studio-led business model. Proein has a history of building business with Eidos and other publishers and we look forward to working with them as our distribution partner in the future,” said SCi CEO Phil Rogers.
