Officials from Seapine Software have announced the release of version 3.1 of Surround SCM, the company’s cross platform source code management solution for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris. The new version allows users to easily switch between the traditional text listing of source files and a thumbnail view that lets them visually identify image files. They can also view the full size image file from within Surround SCM, eliminating the need to open a separate application. Surround SCM’s built-in image differencing (diff) utility lets users view two versions of an image file simultaneously to determine what changed between versions. In addition, Surround SCM 3.1 includes a conversion utility that enables CVS users to easily convert their CVS archives to Surround SCM databases. Other enhancements include advanced searching options, additional file reporting and post-event triggers.
