Officials from event organizers Lunar Tide Communications have announced that the second annual America’s VideoGame Expo (VGXPO) will again take place in Philadelphia, at the Valley Forge convention center from October 27th to 29th. The consumer event aims to provide both casual and hardcore gamers with the opportunity to play new titles, meet industry figures, compete in tournaments and buy new and retro games. The event will also feature conference panels, presentations and discussions, plus Halloween costume contents and cosplay. Other related activities will include card gaming and table-top games, VGXPO Robot Wars and a battle of the video game bands contest. Now in its second year, VGXPO was created to provide U.S. gamers with conventions on par with similar international game events, such as the Tokyo Game Show, Korea's G-Star convention and the German G|C expo. In 2005, VGXPO attracted 17,000 attendees and over 40 exhibitors. "America's VideoGame Expo promises three days packed full of videogame revelry," said Ed Fleming, founder of VGXPO. "VGXPO is a destination where gamers can come together to celebrate videogames and the culture that games are helping to define." Further information can be found at the expo’s official website.
