Vivendi division Sierra has announced that it will be bringing its award winning action-strategy title World In Conflict to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this fall with additional single and multiplayer content with the help of UK developer Swordfish. Sierra says the game is being redesigned for console play, and will include new campaign mode and multiplayer content that will also be made available for the original PC version as an add-on pack. Sierra calls the game "a true genre-bender," mixing gameplay that appeals to both action-oriented first person shooter players as well as "strategy purists," adding that the Massive-developed Cold War themed title "removes traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favor of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and FPS-like intense action." Said Sierra president Martin Tremblay, "World In Conflict was one of the best games on any platform in 2007 and its innovative action-focused gameplay makes it a perfect fit for the transition to consoles. World In Conflict is being reinvented for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 system, with innovative features and new single player and multiplayer content created for the console audience. World In Conflict on consoles will be an amazing extension of an already great gaming franchise."
