SMU Education Summit Announces EA Keynote Speaker

A new game education summit will ask, ‘Is higher education meeting the needs of the game development community?’

Colleen McCreary, global director of strategic education and outreach initiatives at Electronic Arts, will be the keynote speaker at a new game education conference, it was announced recently. The event, the Game Education Summit, will focus on issues that affect game development programs at colleges and universities. McCreary will provide an overview of how higher education can meet the needs of the video game industry. Academics and industry professionals taking part in the event will also have the opportunity to address issues related to serious game development. Other topics will include teaching methodologies, starting a game development program, core curriculum topics, research collaboration, and increasing diversity. The summit is scheduled to take place at Southern Methodist University’s Dallas campus June 10 and 11. Registration is currently open.
