SOE Hires Former AP Reporter As PR Manager

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it has hired former Associated Press journalist Matt Slagle as its new PR manager at its Austin studio, currently developing DC Universe and Star Wars Galaxies. SOE says Slagle worked with the AP at its Dallas bureau as National Technology and Business reporter for over a decade. There Slagle "covered industry features, financial and product news for Fortune 500 technology companies," and "led the AP's national video game coverage, including reviews and industry features." SOE corporate communications senior director Courtney Simmons says Slagle "brings to SOE an unparalleled understanding of the industry's business and consumers. His valuable perspective and experience will undoubtedly serve us in launching one of SOE Austin's most important franchises in the DC Comics product." Said Slagle on the new post, "Transitioning over to SOE creates a unique opportunity to apply my interests and expertise in the video game industry.
