Organizers of the London Games Summit have announced that Michael Denny, vice president of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio (Europe), will be presenting the keynote speech of the conference. Rather than addressing the PlayStation 3 directly, Denny will discuss the subject of digital distribution. His keynote will examine the future impact of a network focused industry in terms of consumer choice and demands; content planning and production; community creation and retention; and economic realities. Denny joined British developer Psygnosis in 1995 and became director of external product development for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) in 2000. Following the formation of SCE Worldwide Studios in late 2005, Denny is now jointly responsible for product development strategy and management based in Europe together with the division's other executive board members. Michael Rawlinson, managing director of ELSPA – one of the sponsors of the summit including developer trade association TIGA and the CMP Game Group, which also publishes Gamasutra.com – commented, "Michael Denny's keynote is the icing on the cake for the London Games Summit and completes a conference full of thought-provoking and enlightening sessions for the industry. The high caliber of speakers demonstrates that this Summit is a unique event in this year's conference calendar." Other speakers at the summit, which runs semi-concurrently with the GDC London event and is intended to provide a business perspective alongside GDC's developer viewpoint, include Shaun Woodward and Lord Sainsbury. The London Games Summit will be held on October 4th and 5th at the BAFTA headquarters in Piccadilly. Further information can be found at the event's official website.
