Hardware manufacturer and game publisher Sony has released a number of details pertaining to upcoming European titles during its just-completed PlayStation Day event in London. Assuaging some Solid Snake fans' fears, Sony confirmed that a package bundling the PS3 console and Kojima Productions' anticipated Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will indeed be available in Europe. The included system will be black with a 40GB hard drive; the whole shebang goes on sale June 12 in Europe for EUR 439.99 (US$683.87), joining a similar North American bundle (pictured) already announced. In addition, SCE Japan Studio's upcoming PS3 entry in the Siren horror franchise has a new name and a new format. Siren Blood Curse will be released episodically (which Sony questionably calls "a gaming first") to PlayStation Network starting this summer. It tells the tale of an American television crew setting up in a Japanese village to research an ancient curse. Two new entries in the Buzz! quiz game series have been announced, highlighting Sony's efforts in the casual and social gaming segments. Buzz! Quiz TV for PS3 is due in Europe this June, while Buzz! Master Quiz will follow for PSP in Europe the following month. In addition, the PS2 will add two more EyeToy titles to its existing lineup, with the saber-rattling EyeToy: Heroes and the cheerleading EyeToy: Pom-Pom. Particularly notable among already announced games is the fact that marquee first-party PS3 FPS Killzone 2, from Guerrilla Games, has been pushed back out of 2008 to a February 2009 release projection in Europe. Meanwhile, Media Molecule's social physics-based PS3 platformer LittleBigPlanet has received a more minor delay - from September to October. Finally, Evolution Studios' off-road PS3 racer MotorStorm 2, due for release later this year, has received a new name as well, now going by the moniker MotorStorm: Pacific Rift. It's worth noting that not all games announced at SCE's PlayStation Day have been confirmed for territories outside Europe, and some of the titles are likely to have significantly different shipping dates in North America and Japan.
