Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced a deal to publish seven Sega PS2 titles in SCEE's European PAL territories.
The deal also includes localization into five languages for titles such as Ecco the Dolphin, Ferrari F-355, Virtua Fighter 4, two Space Channel 5 games, and an as-yet-unannounced game code-named "K-Project." The deal is expected to launch SCEE into the number-two publisher's spot, according to last year's ChartTrack data, with an estimated 9% of the market, behind Electronic Arts' 13.5%. The arrangement may also facilitate Sega's complete withdrawal from the European market; they handed off remaining Dreamcast distribution in much of Europe to Bigben Interactive in April.
