Officials from new start-up massively multiplayer online (MMO) game developer Sparkplay Media have announced the appointing of Warner Bros. entertainment industry veteran Rick Senat to its advisory board. With twenty-five years of experience at Warner Bros. Senat was European head of business and legal affairs and was associated with the Superman and Batman films, as well as the works of Stanley Kubrick and the acquisition of the rights to the Harry Potter books. Although he appears not to have any direct video games experience, Senat was involved in diversifying Warner Bros. business into consumer product and international theatres. He also served as deputy chairman of the British Film Institute and vice chairman of the European Film College. "Rick brings with him a tremendous wealth of entertainment experience and an invaluable understanding of the dynamics of the media business," said Matt Mihaly, CEO of Sparkplay Media. "We expect his knowledge and sense of perspective to prove a considerable asset as we strive to build Sparkplay into a truly world class media company". Sparkplay’s current project is the browser based, free-to-play MMO Earth Eternal, which is currently scheduled for release next year.
