Strong Q3 For Ubi Soft, Raises Sales Guidance For Fiscal '02

Ubi Soft reported its Q3 earnings ending December 31, posting strong sales that reached $146.4 million -- up 45% over last year.

During the quarter, Ubi Soft launched a whopping 57 new titles, compared with 48 during the same period in the previous year. The company cited strong sales of Batman Vengeance (540,000 copies), Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon (430,000 copies sold), IL2 Sturmovik, Scrabble, Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on GBC, Worms World Party on the PlayStation and Tom Clancy's Rogue Spear Black Thorn. The company said that Myst III: Exile and Rayman Advance for GBA have had total sales approaching 1,200,000 and 700,000 copies, respectively. Sales in North America nearly doubled for the company, rising from $31 to $59.4 million dollars and accounting for 41% of sales for the quarter. Over the first nine months of the financial year, Ubi Soft's share of the American market rose from 27% to 40% compared with the same period in the previous financial year. Ubi Soft increased its forecasts of sales for 2001/2002 to over $323.6 million, and reaffirmed its operating income target of $24.8-$26.6 million.
