Opinion: How will Project 2025 impact game developers?
The Heritage Foundation's manifesto for the possible next administration could do great harm to many, including large portions of the game development community.
A study published in the August 1 issue of the Journal of American Medicine reports that the current game ratings scheme doesn’t accurately account for violent content.
Researchers at the Harvard School for Public Health examined a sample of games rated ‘E for Everyone’ and found that 64 percent contained intentional violence for nearly 30 percent their playing time. “Parents need to watch out for media coming under the radar screen unnoticed, and to pay attention to what media teach kids while they entertain,” said researched Kimberly Thompson, “That means parents need to play along or watch as their kids play games and to talk with their kids about the experience.”
