Supreme Court Justice O'Connor to Keynote at Texas Game On! 2011

Organizers of the annual Game On! Texas conference announced that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will deliver a keynote speech addressing the importance of game-based education at the event in April.

Organizers of the annual Game On! Texas conference announced that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will deliver a keynote speech addressing the importance of game-based education at this year's event. O'Connor's speech, part of a day-long event at the AMD Lone Star Campus in Austin, Texas, will focus on iCivics, a game-based learning platform designed to inspire students to play an active role in democracy. Warren Spector, creative director at Epic Mickey creator Junction Point, will also speak at the event. Other sessions scheduled for Game On! Texas 2011 include the panel "Texas Higher Education Game Development Education" and a game design workshop aimed at amateur game creators. Game On! Texas 2011 will take place on April 12th, between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Registration is available at the event's website.
