Episodic adventure game publisher Telltale Games says it will be reviving a classic PC adventure game series with a reboot of Sierra's popular King's Quest, also confirming a sequel to last summer's Puzzle Agent. Few details were given on the King's Quest project at a press event held by Telltale yesterday (as reported by IGN), save for the fact that the game would not be a straight port of the original series and that more information would be coming during June's Electronic Entertainment Expo. Puzzle Agent 2 will continue the adventures of professional puzzle solver Agent Tethers as he solves another case in a snowy Midwest locale, the company said. Telltale also shared a first quarter, 2012 release target for a game based on Vertigo's Fables graphic novel, news of which had leaked early yesterday along with word of a Walking Dead game adaptation. Telltale designer Sean Vanaman confirmed to Comic Book Resources that the inspiration for The Walking Dead title would come from the original comics, not the more recent AMC television adaptation. "It's not so much like the comics beget the show beget the game; it's really like the comics are the nucleus for the franchise," he said. Activision currently holds the publishing rights to the original Ken and Roberta Williams-developed King's Quest games, and initially threatened legal action against a fan-made sequel project last year, before changing its position and allowing a summer release.
