Texas Instruments and PacketVideo Corporation announced plans to create application development tools to allow developers to quickly assemble a variety of streaming multimedia applications for next generation wireless devices based on TI’s OMAP platform and PacketVideo’s PV platform. The new development tools, slated for release in 2002, will allow developers to add voice recognition, 2D animation, and JPEG processing to their wireless applications, to speed development of new applications like voice-activated interactive games and streaming video and audio.
