Organizers of UK games festival GameCity have announced that it will be returning to Nottingham for a third year this October 30th through November 1st, again bringing "developers, students and lovers of interesting culture together in Indian restaurants." While no specific events or sessions have yet been announced, organizers say it will again feature the usual "ground-breaking games, premiere screenings, [and] exclusive appearances" throughout the city of Nottingham "from cinemas and market squares, to restaurants, cafes and schools." The 2007 GameCity event featured a vision keynote from Katamari Damacy and Nobi Nobi Boy creator Keita Takahashi, as well as talks from Frontier's David Braben, Lego Star Wars creator Jonathan Smith and Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov. Said festival director Iain Simons, "We're delighted with the support that the festival has gained from the City of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University - its lead partner. It feels like a real milestone on the journey to mainstream culture for interactive entertainment that an event like this can happen at all - and then be embraced by the public sector."
