THQ Wireless, the mobile phone content arm of THQ Inc., has teamed up with Lucasfilm for a contract to provide Star Wars-themed content to cell phones. The deal will span several years and all of the movies, from the original trilogy right up to next year's Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The stated content THQ will be creating for phones includes ringtones (including the Imperial March), video clips, screensavers, but particularly noted in the pipeline are, of course, mobile games. Mo specific titles have been announced yet, but series fans are promised the chance to "interact with" the Star Wars universe. Given the popularity of the license, it's a good bet that THQ's offerings will be available through most major carriers, and specific North American retail partners are expected soon. "We look forward to working with THQ Wireless to offer fans around the world an immersive Star Wars mobile experience," said Casey Collins, Director of Domestic Licensing & Retail Marketing at Lucasfilm Ltd. "We're happy to work with a pioneering Force in the wireless entertainment industry to create a great portfolio of wireless products for a global audience."
