UK game industry trade group TIGA said it is working with government department UK Trade & Investment to offer grants to domestic firms looking to exhibit overseas at Game Developers Conference 2011. TIGA CEO Richard Wilson said the effort is part of the Tradeshow Access Programme, which aims to support UK businesses to help them attend overseas trade shows like GDC. Eligible recipients of the GDC grants include companies that plan on exhibiting at GDC or Game Connection @GDC 2011. GDC -- part of the UBM TechWeb Game Network, as is this website -- takes place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA, February 28- March 4, 2011. The separately-run Game Connection @GDC 2011 takes place from March 1-3. TIGA is offering more information on the funding via email. Wilson said in a statement, "The UK video games development sector is a successful export industry and TIGA is committed to helping developers build on their excellent track record."
