Emergent Game Technologies, makers of the Gamebryo engine and comprehensive Emergent Elements suite, and TimeGate Studios (Axis and Allies, Kohan) have announced a new agreement to provide TimeGate with the full Elements suite for use in developing a yet-unannounced forthcoming MMO title. The studio plans to base the title on Emergent’s Gamebryo Element game engine (as also utilized for Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) in addition to the suite's Metrics, Server and Automation Elements meant to help build, test and manage games. TimeGate will also be using Emergent’s Live Game Services to both bring online and manage the forthcoming MMO. Apart from previously acclaimed titles Axis and Allies and Kohan, both of which similarly used the Gamebryo engine, TimeGate is developing Vivendi's F.E.A.R. Extraction Point, and a number of other upcoming next-gen titles. “TimeGate is applying a truly revolutionary approach to crafting their next game, and Emergent is providing them with the perfect match of comprehensive tools and services to bring their vision to life,” said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent. “Anyone who wants to see the future of game development in action should look no further than TimeGate and this collaboration. These tools are powerful on their own, but together with TimeGate’s innovative approach on both game design and development, the collaboration holds the potential to be absolutely transformative.”
