Apple's latest U.S. iPhone game charts by revenue see Where's Waldo? outselling Call of Duty: World at War Zombies, as Labyrinth 2 and Super Monkey Ball 2 make impressive debuts.
Every week, sister iPhone site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. iPhone revenue charts see Where's Waldo? outselling Call of Duty: World at War Zombies, as Labyrinth 2 and Super Monkey Ball 2 make impressive debuts. This relatively recently-added chart allows end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing U.S. App Store titles are: 1. Where's Waldo? The Fantastic Journey ($2.99) 2. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($9.99) 3. Dragon's Lair ($4.99) 4. Labyrinth 2 ($4.99) 5. Bejeweled 2 ($2.99) 6. Super Monkey Ball 2 ($4.99) 7. Tetris ($4.99) 8. The Sims 3 ($6.99) 9. Need for Speed Undercover ($4.99) 10. Monopoly ($4.99) After leading the App Store's top grossing charts for three consecutive weeks, Activision's Call of Duty: World at War Zombies drops to second place in today's rankings. Ludia's iPhone adaptation of the Where's Waldo? series of puzzle books tops the App Store's charts by revenue and by volume in its first week of release. EA's iPhone port of Dragon's Lair is on the move after an impressive start last week, taking third in today's results. Recent releases like Illusion Labs' Labyrinth 2 and Sega's Super Monkey Ball 2 also place high in this week's charts, as PopCap's Bejeweled 2 holds steady at fifth place. Scrabble, Madden NFL 10, and Implode! are nowhere to be found among today's top titles, despite strong showings last week. Monopoly also sees a sharp drop in popularity after placing third last week, landing behind Tetris, The Sims 3, and Need for Speed Undercover at tenth place.
