Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see FarmVille and Smurfs' Village leading iPhone and iPod Touch sales, while We Rule Quests emerges as a top seller on the iPad.
Every week, sister iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see FarmVille and Smurfs' Village leading iPhone and iPod Touch sales, while We Rule Quests emerges as a top seller on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 game sales charts which are dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch titles are: 1. Angry Birds ($0.99) 2. Smurfs' Village (Free) 3. FarmVille (Free) 4. Madden NFL 11 ($4.99) 5. Tetris ($0.99) 6. Tap Zoo (Free) 7. Monopoly ($2.99) 8. Kingdoms at War (Free) 9. Cut the Rope ($0.99) 10. Haypi Kingdom (Free) Zynga's FarmVille surges up to third place in today's top-grossing iPhone games chart, challenging reigning sales leaders Angry Birds and Smurfs' Village. EA also emerges as a top earner this week thanks to Black Friday discounts for Madden NFL 11, Tetris, and Monopoly. Tap Zoo, Kingdoms at War, and Haypi Kingdom continue to report impressive daily microtransaction revenue, while former chart leader Cut the Rope could soon disappear from the top ten. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad games: 1. Angry Birds HD ($4.99) 2. Scrabble for iPad ($9.99) 3. Smurfs' Village (Free) 4. We Rule Quests for iPad (Free) 5. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 ($4.99) 6. Cut the Rope HD ($1.99) 7. We Farm Safari for iPad (Free) 8. Fruit Ninja HD ($4.99) 9. Plants vs. Zombies HD ($9.99) 10. Restaurant Story (Free) Rovio's Angry Birds HD reclaims the top spot in the iPad charts after being beaten last week by EA's Scrabble for iPad. Smurfs' Village again claims third place, as Ngmoco's We Rule Quests for iPad moves up to fourth after returning at eighth place last week. Ngmoco's We Farm Safari also earns a spot in today's chart, as Lego Harry Potter, Fruit Ninja HD, and Plants vs. Zombies HD remain consistent sellers from week to week.
