Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see Gameloft's Iron Man 2 topping iPhone sales in its first day of release, as Real Racing HD finishes as today's biggest iPad seller.
Every week, sister iPhone site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Gameloft's Iron Man 2 topping iPhone sales in its first day of release, as Real Racing HD finishes as today's biggest iPad seller. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 Games chart, which is ranked by sales, and therefore is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Iron Man 2 ($6.99) 2. Angry Birds ($0.99) 3. Chaos Rings ($12.99) 4. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 ($5.99) 5. 2010 FIFA World Cup ($6.99) 6. Bejeweled 2 ($2.99) 7. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 8. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($9.99) 9. Doodle Jump ($0.99) 10. Tetris ($4.99) Gameloft's Iron Man 2 leads the iPhone sales charts in its first day of release, beating out Clickgamer's Angry Birds, which climbs up to second place in today's results. Last week's chart leader Chaos Rings drops to third, as Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trails at fourth place. EA's 2010 FIFA World Cup makes a big impression in its first week of release, and finishes as today's fifth-best seller. Bejeweled 2 and Plants vs. Zombies remain popular favorites, as Activision's shooter Call of Duty: World at War Zombies returns after a long absence to take eighth place. Here are this week’s top-grossing iPad applications: 1. Real Racing HD ($9.99) 2. Scrabble for iPad ($9.99) 3. Pinball HD ($2.99) 4. Plants vs. Zombies HD ($9.99) 5. X-Plane for iPad ($9.99) 6. Iron Man 2 for iPad ($9.99) 7. Flight Control HD ($4.99) 8. Need for Speed Shift for iPad ($14.99) 9. Labyrinth 2 HD ($7.99) 10. Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front HD ($7.99) Firemint's Real Racing HD returns to the top iPad sales spot after being knocked to second place last week by Gameprom's Pinball HD. EA's Scrabble moves up to second in today's results, while Plants vs. Zombies falls to fourth place. The iPad version of Gameloft's Iron Man 2 premieres at sixth place, meanwhile, as Flight Control HD, Need for Speed Shift, and Labyrinth 2 lead over the returning Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front HD.
