Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts see Tap Zoo and Burn the Rope attracting top earnings, while Scrabble for iPad and N.O.V.A. 2 HD emerge as big sellers on the iPad.
Every week, sister iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see Tap Zoo and Burn the Rope earning top iPhone and iPod touch revenues, while Scrabble for iPad and N.O.V.A. 2 HD emerge as big sellers on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the Top 10 game sales chart, which is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone titles are: 1. Angry Birds ($0.99) 2. Call of Duty: Zombies ($4.99) 3. Tap Zoo (Free) 4. Burn the Rope ($0.99) 5. Fruit Ninja ($0.99) 6. Zombie Farm (Free) 7. Infinity Blade ($5.99) 8. Cut the Rope ($0.99) 9. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 10. Live Poker (Free) Rovio's Angry Birds and Activision's Call of Duty: Zombies remain the iPhone and iPod Touch's highest-grossing games for the second week running, as newcomer Burn the Rope debuts at fourth place after an impressive showing in this week's paid charts. This week also brings a surge in popularity for several microtransaction-supported free games, including Pocket Gems' zoo sim Tap Zoo, The PlayForge's FarmVille-like Zombie Farm, and Zynga's online gambling title Live Poker. Plants vs. Zombies HD ($6.99) Angry Birds HD and Smurfs' Village once again lead iPad game sales after several consecutive weeks of chart success. EA's Scrabble for iPad moves up to third place this week, as a recently released iPad version of Gameloft's Halo clone N.O.V.A. 2 claims fourth. TeamLava's free-to-play Bakery Story captures sixth place in today's charts, as Plants vs. Zombies returns to the top ten behind Cut the Rope HD and Fragger HD.
