[Every week, sister iPhone and iPad site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad game applications, as current that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra.] This week's U.S. revenue charts see Sonic the Hedgehog 4 and Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus leading iPhone and iPod touch sales, while Cut the Rope HD emerges as a top seller on the iPad. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the top-selling games chart, which is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch game titles are: 1. Cut the Rope ($0.99) 2. Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus ($6.99) 3. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 ($9.99) 4. Angry Birds ($0.99) 5. Family Feud ($0.99) 6. Bejeweled 2 + Blitz ($0.99) 7. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 8. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies ($4.99) 9. Gamebox 2 ($2.99) 10. Fruit Ninja ($0.99) Longtime chart leader Angry Birds drops to fourth place in today's top-grossing iPhone games chart, as Chillingo's physics puzzler Cut the Rope takes the top spot. Gameloft's Modern Combat 2 and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog 4 make impressive debuts this week at second and third place, as Family Feud and Bejeweled 2 return to the charts at fifth and sixth after dropping in price to 99 cents. PopCap has another chart winner with Plants vs. Zombies at seventh place, while Activision's recently updated Call of Duty: World at War Zombies beats Triniti's app compilation Gamebox 2 at eighth. Fruit Ninja HD ($4.99) Chillingo leads iPad game sales this week with Cut the Rope HD, pushing former chart leader Angry Birds HD to second place. EA's Scrabble moves up to third place, as Isotope 244's real-time strategy title Land Air Sea Warfare HD enjoys brisk sales at fourth. The free-to-play Pocket Frogs, Zombie Farm, and City Story report impressive microtransaction sales this week, while Freeverse's Skee-Ball HD and Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja HD remain popular favorites.
