Apple's latest U.S. App Store game charts by revenue see The Sims 3 Ambitions and an upgraded Street Fighter IV compete on the iPhoneand iPod Touch, as Real Golf 2011 HD emerges as a top iPad seller.
Every week, sister iPhone and iPad site FingerGaming rounds up the top-grossing iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad games, as listed that day in the iTunes App Store, and this chart is now available on Gamasutra. This week's U.S. revenue charts see The Sims 3 Ambitions and an upgraded Street Fighter IV compete on the iPhone and iPod Touch, as Real Golf 2011 HD emerges as a top iPad seller. These charts allow end users to see who is making the most money off of games on the App Store that day. It differs significantly from the list of Top 10 selling games, which is dominated by lower-priced titles that sell more copies. Data comes courtesy of Apple's public sales information. All titles in the App Store's "Games" category are considered in chart rankings. This week's top-grossing iPhone and iPod Touch titles are: 1. The Sims 3 Ambitions ($4.99) 2. Angry Birds ($0.99) 3. Tetris ($2.99) 4. Street Fighter IV ($9.99) 5. Plants vs. Zombies ($2.99) 6. Bejeweled 2 + Blitz ($2.99) 7. Madden NFL 11 ($7.99) 8. Words With Friends ($2.99) 9. Stick Stunt Biker ($0.99) 10. Fruit Ninja ($0.99) EA's The Sims 3 Ambitions premieres as this week's highest-grossing iPhone game, pushing last week's chart champion Angry Birds to second place. Tetris takes third place following a weekend-long price drop, as Capcom's recently updated Street Fighter IV returns to the chart in fourth. PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies and Bejeweled 2 see renewed popularity this week, as Madden NFL 11 falls to seventh place after taking second last week. Words With Friends remains a steady seller at eighth place, meanwhile, as Stick Stunt Biker and Halfbrick's newly Game Center-compatible Fruit Ninja finish up today's rankings. Tetris for iPad ($7.99) Angry Birds HD reclaims the top iPad sales spot this week after previously being beaten by Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which drops to eighth place in today's results. Gameloft's Real Golf 2011 HD finishes its debut week in second place, as EA's Scrabble climbs up to take third. Streetview Labs' Tap Zoo, TeamLava's City Story, and NimbleBit's Pocket Frogs rank as the iPad's most profitable microtransaction-supported games, while EA's Tetris for iPad creeps into the top ten this week at tenth place.
