Ubi Soft Acquires Blue Byte

Privately-held Blue Byte, which has 64 employees, is the maker of the Settlers and Battle Isle game series. The company was founded in 1988 by the current head of the company, Thomas Hertzler, and has operations in Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom. The acquisition will be consolidated into the Ubi Soft accounts as of February 6, 2001, and Ubi Soft reports that it will have a positive impact on its results in 2001.
