As previously mentioned in Ubisoft's announcement of a major game studio expansion in Montreal, part of the government-aided money given to Ubisoft's major Canadian studio will go toward establishing an game-related education program. However, Ubisoft has now released more details on the Ubisoft Campus, as it will be called, including its courses of study. Aided by a $4.28 million (USD) grant from the Ministère de l'Education, the Ubisoft Campus will partner with the Cégep de Matane and the Université de Sherbrooke to offer programs both for graduate students and current Ubisoft employees, who can receive continuing education in conjunction with the Emploi Québec. The graduate courses will cover programming, 3D animation, 3D modeling, and level design. Each of the courses will last for three terms of 15 weeks each, and the Cégep de Matane will bestow a degree upon completion. Around 80 students are expected to enroll for the school's opening in the Ubisoft Montreal grounds in spring 2005. "With this major development project, we are reconfirming our educational commitment to provide support for the talent of tomorrow, while allowing us to reach our goal of creating 1,000 new jobs in Montreal by 2010," said Martin Tremblay, President and COO of Ubisoft Montreal.
