Ubisoft provides Ukraine employees with alternate housing, establishes support hotlines

Ubisoft has provided its staff and their families in Ukraine with alternate housing in neighboring countries so they can take shelter as the Russian invasion continues. 

The French publisher has two studios in Ukraine -- located in Kyiv and Odesa -- and has created dedicated hotlines to provide employees in the region with personalized support and aid. The company has also implemented an emergency communication system to ensure it can maintain contact with workers "in all circumstances."

Ubisoft had previously recommended all teams take shelter in a place they considered safe, and provided additional funds to help cover exceptional costs as the situation escalated. Employees have also been paid their salary in advance to account for potential banking disruptions.

Commenting more broadly on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ubisoft said it is "devastated and heartbroken" by the events taking place in the country, adding its "top priority" is the safety and well-being of its teams and their families.

As well as providing support to its workforce, Ubisoft has donated €200,000 (approx. $221,800) to the Ukrainian Red Cross and Save the Children to help meet the urgent needs of people in Ukraine.

The company is the latest in a growing number of studios to pledge financial aid to those affected by the war.
