Talking as part of an in-depth Gamasutra interview published today, Ubisoft Montreal's CEO Yannis Mallat has been discussing the Wii MotionPlus peripheral, suggesting its increased fidelity will "...add a lot of pleasure to the experience." Mallat says that, at first, he didn't realize the full potential of MotionPlus to contribute to the gaming experience, but rapidly became a believer. "It's one thing to have your brain interpolating what you're doing. It's another thing to not need that interpolation work." Making games for Wii involves considering various peripherals, including the Balance Board, and Mallat says Ubisoft is "totally" comfortable with exploring the new possibilities these peripherals create. "It's extensions -- to get a wide audience with new peripherals in order to interact with a game," he says, citing Shaun White Snowboarding as a "must-try." "You don't need your brain to do that interpolation work, because it's so seamless, and then you immerse yourself into that experience," he says.
