Ubisoft To Expand Steam Offering By 40 Titles

Publisher Ubisoft has announced that it is preparing to expand its lineup of games available on Valve's digital distribution network Steam by more than 40 titles, including its latest hit Assassin's Creed as well as a number of Tom Clancy titles. The publisher had previously released its Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, the Source Engine powered first-person shooter from Arkane Studios (Arx Fatalis) and Kuju Entertainment (Battalion Wars), simultaneously over Steam and at retail. Ubisoft says that in addition to Assassin's Creed and its Tom Clancy franchise, the new expanded deal would bring additional games from the Heroes of Might & Magic, IL-2 Sturmovik and Far Cry franchises, and would be offering collection packs of many of the releases in coming weeks. Said Valve business development director Jason Holtman, "Ubisoft will be delivering the largest library of titles available from any single publisher or developer to Steam. The incredible selection of high quality games from Ubisoft expands the range of genres offered to the millions of PC gamers logging on to Steam every day."
