Wii Fit knocked Star Wars: The Force Unleashed off the top spot in the UK sales charts after just one week, with a 75 percent increase in the former's sales due to a new influx of stock. The hardware bundle with the Balance Board notched up its seventh non-consecutive week at number one, with its third biggest week of sales since its launch in April. Although the multiplatform The Force Unleashed hung on to the number one spot in the combined format charts, it was beaten into third place in the individual unit charts. With an increase in sales of 26 percent, Mario Kart Wii moved up two places to number two, after it too received a boost in supply. The highest new entry of the week was Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway for Xbox 360 at number five, with the PlayStation 3 version new at number eight. As such, 65 percent of sales were on Microsoft’s format and 35 percent on Sony’s. Outside of the top 10, the highest new entry was the Xbox 360 version of Disney’s off-road racing game Pure at number 11, with the PlayStation 3 version entering at number 34. Namco Bandai’s Family Trainer (aka Active Life: Outdoor Challenge) for Wii was also new at number 19. Re-entering the charts at number 20, after quickly running out of stock following its summer debut, is Konami’s Sports Island (aka Deca Sports) for Wii. Fellow re-entry at number 27 is Halo 3 for the Xbox 360 - the only obvious evidence in the charts of the Xbox 360’s recent price cut. Another re-entry from the summer is Ubisoft’s Puzzler Collection for the Nintendo DS at number 31, while Sega and BioWare’s Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood for the DS debuts at number 35. The final new entry for the week is PC exclusive Civilization IV: Colonization at number 36. Despite the generally strong performance of Wii titles a number of exclusive releases for the format failed to chart in the top 40, with no sign of Sega’s Samba de Amigo or Nintendo’s Wario Land: The Shake Dimension (aka Shake It!), despite heavy TV advertising for both. THQ’s critically acclaimed de Blob also failed to chart. Overall in the top 40 there were 13 titles for the Wii, 10 for the Nintendo DS, seven for the Xbox 360, five for the PlayStation 3, four for the PC, one for the PlayStation 2 and none for the PSP.
