Pandemic's Mercenaries has solidified its position at the top of the UK video game sales charts this week, with a 33 percent increase in sales. But there's still little movement in the top ten, though the success of Sonic Mega Collection Plus shows the continued buying power of nostalgic ex-Mega Drive (aka Genesis) owners. The only debutant in this week's top ten is Ace Combat: Squadron Leader (aka Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War), which moves up four places thanks to good word of mouth. Meanwhile, the only new entry of note outside the top ten is Mario Power Tennis, which makes a creditable entry, considering the small GameCube user base in the UK, at number fifteen. Next week shows once again the inability of UK publishers to sensibly schedule their games with a large range of high profile titles - including Metal Gear Solid 3, Star Wars: Republic Commando, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath and Playboy: The Mansion - many of which may get somewhat lost in the melee.
