Viewpoint Corporation announced today the next step in the ongoing relationship between Viewpoint and Discreet today at the Game Developers Conference.
The Viewpoint exporter for 3ds Max 4 will soon be available from the Viewpoint web site and, when completed, will be added to all copies of 3ds Max 4 as part of Discreet's continued web studio CD set promotion. “Our 3ds Max exporter enables Discreet's user base to tap into the web market,” said Chris Johnston, vice president of product marketing for Viewpoint. “This new market opportunity empowers Discreet users by providing a quick and simple solution for creating and migrating high impact visual content to the Internet.” In addition, Discreet has expanded its patent relationship with Viewpoint by licensing Viewpoint's patents for the dynamic scaling of 3D meshes within its 3ds Max 4 software that will allow an artist to visualize the 3D streaming nature of the Viewpoint Media Player.
