Virtual Console Adds Pokemon Puzzle League, Renegade

Nintendo has updated its Virtual Console offerings this week to include N64 puzzle game Pokemon Puzzle League and NES beat’em up Renegade. Pokemon Puzzle League (pictured) is a themed version of developer Intelligent Systems’ Panel de Pon and Tetris Attack games. Up to two players match three or more similarly-colored blocks to clear the screen with chains and combos in six different modes, including story mode and timed play. Animated cut scenes and characters from the Pokemon animated series appear in this competition for the title of Pokemon Puzzle Master. Renegade is the precursor to Double Dragon and the first entry in developer Technos’ Kunio-kun series (River City Ransom). As with its follow-ups, Renegade is populated with street gangs determined to stop players from rescuing their kidnapped girlfriends. 1-2 players can fight their way through four stages in this Arcade-to-NES port, including a motorcycle chase. Both games are now available on North America's Virtual Console shop page, priced at 1000 Wii Points ($10) for Pokemon Puzzle League, and 500 Wii Points ($5) for Technos' Renegade.
