Vivdendi Turns Down Offer For Games Unit

According to French newspaper Les Echos an offer for Vivendi Universal Games has been turned down by the parent company. The deal was reported to be in the region of $600 to $800 million and was from an existing video games publisher in partnership with an investment fund – which according to other rumors is likely to have been Take-Two Interactive. Apparently the parent company is still expecting to get $1 billion for the games unit and according to other reports executives met with other interested parties in New York last week, although the company has refused to comment on this or the allegations in Les Echos.
