Data from market research firm and Famitsu magazine publisher Enterbrain has suggested that sales of the Wii console were almost four times higher than the PlayStation 3 in Japan during February, despite Sony’s console beginning to narrow the gap last autumn. In October of last year, the sales ratio between the two consoles had winnowed to just 2:1 in the Wii’s favor, but beginning with the release of the major winter titles last year, Nintendo’s console has begun to increase its lead once again. According to Enterbrain data, which only broadly agrees with weekly data from rival chart tracker Media Create, the Wii sold 331,627 units in the four weeks to February 24th. This compares to just 89,131 units of the PlayStation 3 and 14,079 units of the Xbox 360. The success of Super Smash Bros. Wii Fit, which initially went on sale in December, sold 30,311 during the four weeks.
