In scenes that would have been somewhat unimaginable just a few years ago, when the UK was still one of Nintendo’s weakest major markets around the world, all but one of the games in the top ten this week are for a Nintendo format – five of those published by Nintendo themselves. Still at number one thanks to renewed stock levels, Wii Fit has seen sales slip since the previous week. The multiformat Lego Indiana Jones has returned to the number one spot in the combined format charts, followed by fellow movie tie-in Wall-E. No version of either game appears in the individual format top ten though. The highest new entry in the individual format charts is Activision’s Guitar Hero: On Tour for the Nintendo DS at number six, with RedOctane’s franchise still failing to capture quite as large an audience as in North America. The rest of the top ten is a wash of Wii and Nintendo DS titles, with Ubisoft’s Sports Party rising eighteen places to number seven. PlayStation 3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only title not for a Nintendo format console in the top ten, at number ten. There are no other new entries in the top forty this week, although Ubisoft’s Imagine: Babies on Nintendo DS re-enters at number thirty-four and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 3 re-appears at number thirty-five. The Wii version of Wall-E also appears at number thirty-nine, following its initial release last week. Overall in the top forty there are fifteen titles a piece for the Wii and Nintendo DS, with five for the PlayStation 3, four for the Xbox 360, one for the PSP and none for the PlayStation 2 or PC.
