Games Media Properties, which recently announced the first World Series of Video Games (WSVG) competition as well as a partnership with Ubisoft for ClancyCon, announced a new partnership with AOL as a way to create a co-branded, online presence for the WSVG's video game tournaments, as well as to help promote its international gaming tournaments. The AOL partnership will span the entire World Series of Video Games international circuit of eight events, including the finals at which world champions will be named for a number of popular Xbox and PC games. Under the terms of the agreement, AOL will create a dedicated, co-branded area on the AOL Games website with news and video coverage of all WSVG events, AIM Pages profiles of select participants, tips and tricks from professional players and a calendar of WSVG events and tournaments. Additionally, AOL will power online tournaments for Counter Strike 1.6 and Quake 4, both as standalone events and as pre-qualification rounds for the official tournaments to be held at the WSVG's major events. The WSVG and AOL plan further initiatives involving some of the most popular players from the World Series of Video Games, including blogs, video interviews on the AOL Games WSVG website, appearances at select offline events, and special online tournaments with AOL users.
