Bach said that over 8 million Xbox units have been sold worldwide: 5.4 million units in North America, 1.8 million in Europe and 850,000 in the Asia-Pacific region. Over 250,000 of the Xbox Live starter kits have been sold so far. On a related note, Microsoft's Chief Financial Officer, John Connors, cautioned that the company's revenues in the current quarter would be $7.7-$7.8 billion, off of the $8 billion most analysts had expected. In explaining the lower guidance, he said the global game market is softer than expected that the Xbox would bring in less revenue as a result.
