Getting an early jump on E3 announcements, <a href="http://www.xbox.com">Microsoft</a> announced today that the Xbox will launch on November 8, and that it will be priced at $299.
Microsoft said it expects to sell from 1-1.5 million units through the holiday season, despite expected competition from Nintendo's GameCube, which Nintendo is also planning to launch next Fall. In Xbox game-related announcements, Capcom confirmed that it will develop three games for Xbox, including two Xbox exclusives: Dino Crisis 3 (working title) and BRAIN-BOX (working title), an original robot simulation game. In addition, Onimusha will be optimized for Xbox. Sega said it is creating Xbox versions of its Sega Sports 2K2 games, as well as Crazy Taxi Next and House of the Dead 3. All of these games are expected to be released this year. Sega also said its Sega Sports 2K3 titles will leverage the Xbox's broadband online game service, which is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2002.
