Microsoft and Vancouver-based developer Hothead Games have announced that its episodic adventure Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One will make its Xbox Live Arcade and PC debut on May 21st. Hothead says players will join the stars of the ubiquitous web comic who here make up "the crime-solving team of the Startling Developments Detective Agency," and will "combat savage enemies and solve mysteries hidden deep in the sinister heart of New Arcadia." The game is the first from Canadian developers Hothead Games, founded by CEO, president and Silicon Knights vet Vlad Ceraldi. The company later officially hired LucasArts vet Ron Gilbert, who consulted on Penny Arcade's title. Apart from the Xbox Live Arcade release, the game will be made available on PC, Mac, and Linux, and will be the first released by The Greenhouse, Hothead's recently announced web-based distribution platform dedicated to "supporting independent game development worldwide." The title is expected to retail for $19.95 for the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions, and at 1600 Microsoft Points ($20) on Xbox Live Arcade.
