Games-Services | Paris, Friday the 15th April - The Electronic Sports World Cup 2005 Grand Final will be organized from Wednesday 6th July to Sunday 10th July 2005, in the most prestigious venue of France, in Paris: "The Carrousel of the Louvre" - with the support of Nvidia as Main and Worldwide Partner. During the ESWC Grand Final, designed as a traditional sport event and produced as a show for television, one of the tournaments will feature 24 female teams with $30,000 of prize money : The Counter-Strike Women Masters.
In order to participate in this tournament, teams will have to be entirely composed by female players and will have to win one of the slots provided in the qualifying tournaments (16 slots), or apply as candidate if no qualifications exist in your country (8 slots).
The qualifications will take place in countries where it has been possible and/or justified to organize qualifying tournaments. These tournaments will provide qualification slots for the countries according to the following list:
Belgium (1 slot)
Bulgaria (1 slot)
China (1 slot)
France (2 slots)
Germany (1 slot)
Greece (1 slot)
Italy (1 slot)
Portugal (1 slot)
Russia (2 slots)
Serbia & Montenegro (1 slot)
Spain (1 slot)
Sweden, Norway, Finland (2 slots)
United States (1 slot - To be confirmed)
Teams that have no qualification in their country will be able to fill in a candidate application form from Wednesday 13th April to Tuesday 10th May 2005. The organizing committee will then analyze each candidate form and proceed to the selection of the 8 teams according to their recent performances, their past achievements and their country's strength. The final list of the 8 selected teams will be announced Friday 13th May 2005.
