12 April 2011, Singapore and Malaysia – Asiasoft Online today announces the official opening of AIKASEA, a 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) that focuses on the Player vs. Player (PvP) element. AIKASEA is the localized version of AIKA Online.
AIKASEA held its Closed Beta Test (CBT) from 31st March 2011 to 4th April 2011. Aptly titled “Battle of the Garrison”, the CBT was extremely successful as more 10,000 players logged in over the five days to try out the game and participate in the event. The response was so overwhelming that the PvP channel caps in both nations were raised and servers were added to allow more players to enjoy the Castle Sieges and Nation Wars held over the weekend.
The popularity of the game was evident during its launch in Thailand earlier in the year. Published and launched by Asiasoft Corporation on 25th February 2011, over 20,000 players logged in to the game within the first hour of opening, prompting additional servers to be booted up to cope with the high demand.
Following the end of the CBT, five gamers from Singapore and Malaysia were also specially invited to participate in a exclusive focus group discussion on 8th April 2011. The objective of this focus group was to gather feedback from the gamers, and to discuss issues and suggestions for improvements in the game, and Asiasoft has been working closely with the developer, Hanbitsoft to implement these improvements to the game.
AIKASEA is a game that requires strong community bonding as well as a mean competitive spirit. Other than the usual single PvP modes, the game also focuses on team spirit as the gamers will need to participate in 1,000 vs. 1,000 Nation Wars to help their legion leader become the Lord Marshal for AIKASEA. The Lord Marshal will gain control of the economy of the game, in addition to many other benefits for gamers belonging to the legion and alliance of the Lord Marshal.
The camaraderie between the players grew stronger as the AIKASEA forums (http://forums.asiasoftsea.met) were filled with legions recruiting members in preparation for the official launch. Many helpful gamers also shared guides and tips with those who were new to the game. The game also comes in a small client size, making it easy for many gamers to install and play without taking up too much of their computer resources, and yet allowing them to enjoy stunning graphics with breathtaking scenery within the game at the same time.
More activities are in store with the official launch of AIKASEA. A launch party is in the works and more details will be released soon. AIKASEA will also be featured at the upcoming Asiasoft Games Festival 2011 (ASGF 2011) to be held in conjunction with Licence 2 Play 2011, Suntec City Hall 401 from 27th to 29th May. Gamers can expect loads of fun-filled entertainment at the event to make it a memorable gathering for their legions.
"We are very excited to launch AIKASEA in Singapore and Malaysia as the first game in our exciting line up for 2011. Its success during the launch in Thailand has given us much confidence for AIKASEA and fans in this region have been very forthcoming with their feedback during its CBT," said Mr Sherman Tan, Chairman of Asiasoft Online. "Following which, we look forward to the fervent support from the fans to make AIKASEA a success in both countries. With the emphasis on community bonding for the game to be entertaining, gamers can also expect more opportunities to gather and interact in upcoming events such as ASGF 2011."
AIKASEA will be officially launched today at 1600 hrs (GMT +8). To register for an AIKASEA account, please visit www.AIKASEA.com.
