Akella Company and Wargaming.net announce the development of strategy game based on novel "Inhabited Island" by Strugatsky brothers.

The story unfolds, after Maxim destroyed the Center (Central Broadcast Station) and the Land of Fathers army was defeated in the North. Having lost effect of mind control transmissions, the most part of inhabitants faced collective hangover and fell into state, similar to coma. The Khontis seized the opportunity and attacked the country from the north. In this situation violence is the only way to settle the conflict down and stop the war.

Players will repel enemy forces in the North, resist barbarian invasion from the South and overcome superior numbers of the Island Empire.

"Wargaming.net is known for its addictive strategy games in sci-fi setting", says Dmitry Arkhipov, VP of development at Akella. "We're confident, the game based on 'Inhabited Island' will immerse players into fabulous worlds of Strugatsky brothers for at least several weeks."

"We're glad to expand our partnership with Akella Company. We will do the best to develop exceptionally interesting strategy game. Players will see the world authentic to that described in Strugatsky brothers novel", - notes Viktor Kisly, CEO of Wargaming.net.

Game release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2007.
