Apogee :

Fire up today’s demo for a first foray into Rising Heat’s crucible of fast-paced combat. Face swarms of insectoid cyborgs and grapple the first gauntlet of multi-stage behemoth bosses.

Balance a powerful dance of offense and defense with a dynamic momentum-based movement system. Line up multiple enemies to execute a flurry of precise tackles dealing devastating damage while bouncing between a barrage of enemy bullets.

Experiment with a plethora of customizations, unlock new pilots, hacks, and ships with distinctive starting stats and passive abilities after each successful playthrough. Mix and match loadouts to find distinct complimentary playstyles.

Rising Heat, an evolution in Horde Survival, takes fast-paced momentum style movement and combinesit with a strategic deck-builder-like upgrade system. From indie publisher Apogee Entertainment and developer Fuzzy Sock Studios, blast off with its first ever public demo, available now on PC via Steam.

Craft a build capable of taking on hordes of feeble enemies, but be prepared for bullet hell inspired boss battles. With a limited inventory, optimize each ship’s playstyle to best handle the ever-changing challenges ahead.

Upgrade, integrate, and even fuse ‘hacks’ together to create varied builds every run. Discover secret handmade synergies between weapon upgrades, and curate a completely custom combo of stats and abilities with Rising Heat’s Fusion mechanic. Cleverly manipulate the shop, ‘hack’ positioning, action order, and manipulate negative stats to get as much out of one’s build as possible.

Rising Heat’s demo is available now on Steam for PC

About Apogee Entertainment

Apogee is featured in John Romero’s new book, Doom Guy, along with Masters of Doom, the new FPS documentary, the book Shareware Heroes (2022 release), and many others – because Apogee was a critical player in the rise of the PC gaming, essentially creating the indie scene.

Apogee also funded, produced and published Id Software’s Wolfenstein 3D, the first ever FPS game, and also created pioneering games like Duke Nukem 3D, numerous Duke console games, Prey, Shadow Warrior, Rise of the Triad, and co-owned/co-created Max Payne 1 & 2. These games all earned over $1.5 billion commercially. (Apogee used the “3D Realms” label for many of these releases, but the company was always Apogee.)

The recently renamed Apogee Entertainment, with original founder Scott Miller still at the helm, continues to empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers. Current hit releases include Turbo Overkill and Bread & Fred, along with 10 other games currently in development.
