Furniture & Mattress :

CALIFORNIA AND ARGENTINA, FEBRUARY 21, 2024 - The humble team of indie all-stars at Furniture & Mattress are excited to reveal - as part of today’s Nintendo Direct - their debut game: Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure. Can a small-town misfit disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit in? Find out in a new type of puzzle game, where the world is yours to solve.

Arranger is brought to life by F&M co-founders David Hellman’s (Braid) unique painterly art style, Nick Suttner’s (Carto) sassy writing, and Nicolás Recabarren’s (Ethereal) delightfully clever puzzles. They’ve also partnered with composer Tomás Batista (Per Aspera) for a stirring, vibesy soundtrack - composed on the South American, stringed instrument of the charango - as well as a small team of talented contractors to buoy David’s art. Arranger was also the first game to receive financial support from the philanthropic Astra Fund (now operating as indie publisher Astra Logical, though F&M are very much self-publishing).

“We started talking about this project on March 10th, 2020, so obviously a lot has changed in the world since then,” reflects co-founder Nick Suttner. “But we’ve done the best we can to stay positive in a challenging environment in which to make games, and to create something beautiful, breezy, and memorable that stays true to each of our sensibilities. While we’ve all been in games for a while, this was a milestone project for all of us - my first time working on a game from start to finish, Nico’s first time shipping a full-scope game across multiple platforms, and David’s first full game project since Braid. Thanks to anyone who gives it a shot, it means a lot to us!”

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Netflix, and PC & Mac (Steam and Epic Game Store) in Summer 2024, with ports being handled by the experts at 22nd Century Toys.

About Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure
Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure follows the story of Jemma, a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery. Venturing out beyond her stiflingly cozy confines, she finds an inspiring world - but also one ruled by fear, and a strange, immovable ‘static’ force. Can she disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit into it?

Gameplay takes place on a unique, interconnected ‘grid’ that spans the entire world, snappily uniting movement, exploration, and combat. When Jemma moves, the world moves with her - creating both a playful sense of chaos, and a regular stream of small, thoughtful puzzles that twist and play with the central mechanic.

Features:
- Unique, interconnected gameplay ‘grid’ that snappily unites movement, combat, and exploration.
- A story-driven adventure about a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery.
- A breezy RPG without XP or inventory to manage, where everything is handled in-world.
- 8-10 hour campaign, with various assist options so that you only get as stuck as you want to be.
- Debut game from an all-star development team, featuring the artist behind Braid. For more information on Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure, visit https://www.arranger.quest. Follow them on Twitter @furnimatgames.
