Just four months after Babel Games Services opened its doors in Montreal, the company announced today that there are already 100 people employed at the outsourcing specialist's new North American headquarters.

Babel is scaling fast to meet the industry's growing general commitment to outsourcing as well as to address the increase in demand from publishers delivering next gen launch titles. The team is currently working on a number of high profile PSP and Xbox 360 launch titles in addition to PS2, Xbox, PC and mobile.

Babel now provides a global delivery capability via its facilities in Montreal, Brighton and New Delhi. Using its three time zones, a QA team of over 150 testers and a localisation department that is currently translating over 1 million words per month, the company is able to offer maximum scale when needed for time-critical launch titles. Babel is a Microsoft approved test house for the Xbox video game system in Europe and North America, and has developer status with both Sony and Nintendo. The company is a Vodafone Global certification partner and a Java Verified test house.

"Being in Montreal enables us to provide a North American presence for our cross-platform QA, translation and audio services, as well as to deliver a low cost, high quality solution to our clients worldwide," said Algy Williams Managing Director of Babel. "Interestingly a significant number of our European clients are taking advantage of the great QA rates we can offer In Montreal, given the subsidies available to us."

Babel's complete integrated service of localisation for text and audio, functional and localisation QA, through to print and DTP offers a significant advantage over using multiple agencies, particularly on time-critical launch titles. Increasingly the company is managing the translation, audio, functionality QA, localisation QA and manual production for individual titles. "The quality and efficiency benefits are very real," said Algy Williams, "Our clients have one point of contact and we manage the entire process for them".
